AH! I knew I should’ve given The Blind Side two screens on FlickPicks! I gave the second screen to Precious instead, since I felt like The Blind Side could go either way (I thought it was going to be either a surprise hit or a total failure); In a way I neglected the fact that The Blind Side has way more screens, but then again the tiny box office of The Men Who Stare at Goats, which was a pretty wide release, threw me off.
Oh well, at least I now have some points, so I can buy a third screen when Eclipse comes out :D
Uh oh. I sense a lot of my time being spent here: the ‘fantasy football’ for film geeks, FlickPicks.
I fancy myself a pretty good predictor of box office results, but now I can see if I really do have the right stuff - and get obsessed in the process.
I’ve made my picks for this week and have already grown sympathetic with the local multiplex. You know, the one that doesn’t play the films you want to see when the fall season rolls around. I just denied Men Who Stare at Goats any screens at all, and wish I had enough points to give Twilight an extra. Money talks, and the better films just don’t seem to earn it (in cinemas).
If you ever complain about the ‘business’ side of show business, you have to sign up for this site— your own greed may surprise you.
And if you feel up to it, challenge me. My cinema is called ‘The Lounge’, but I’ll warn you: you’ll probably end up down 25 points ;)
