This is brilliant 8-bit in the real-world stuff— I know people who’ve probably had the Tetris bit happen in their heads for real.

If I were an Atari/EA/Nintendo-like game company, I’d be pretty tempted to commission these folks to make a similar peice with my characters to show in cinemas, just as a “look how we’ve affected the real world”/”the influence of gaming is everywhere” sort of thing. Combine it with a site that includes behind-the-scenes videos and a little toy where you upload photos and have them converted to 8-bit for your Twitter/Facebook profile pictures, and you’re good to go.

I know that we’re all pretty bored of 8-bit themed videos at this point, but this is pretty exceptional. A fresh twist on the integration of pixels into the real world, and some amazing effects and art direction.

So all-caps, non-serif writing is the new official way to get people to notice that a film has a star in it? Cool. I bet there were a bunch of meetings to decide on that one, a.k.a free market research for all of us.
