A few weeks ago, Gary Vaynerchuk put up a contest to design the cover of his new book, The Thank You Economy. I really should have posted this before to prove that I made it before the June 18th deadline, since I didn’t get an email acknowledging my submission.
Either way, here it is, my first attempt at a book cover design!!! And here’s the cover of Gary’s 1st NYT + WSJ bestseller, ‘Crush It!’ for comparison.
This bit of comedy here is my actual change in Tumbularity today, thanks to Gary Vaynerchuk reblogging my video of his shout-out on 30 Rock last night.
The only issue is I have a bit of an obsession with seeing my Google Analytics numbers go up month-over-month, even if by 1%.
The pressure just went up :)
A @garyvee character on 30 Rock… yet again, the writers on that show manage to stay funny, relevant, entertaining and heartfelt all at the same time. What an amazing writing room that would be to watch.
Also, this video was terribly difficult to screencap - i had to hold a mic to the computer speakers as Apple’s QuickTime X has no way to record the screen and the computer’s audio at the same time. Why, I don’t understand. Like iMovie 08, beauty killed the beast and they crippled an app in the name of simplicity. I am down with screen capture mode overall though.
